Indonesia America Opens Halal Label Market Cooperation

The Halal Certification Institute from the United States, ISWA Halal Certification Department, met with Indonesian Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi at the Ministry of Religion's office, Jakarta.

The ISWA Halal Certification Department's meeting with Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi was facilitated by Deputy Chair of the Republic of Indonesia Syariah and Financial Institution Jerry Lumelle. The arrival of Habib A. Ghanim as the CEO of ISWA, which was received directly by the Minister of Religion of RI together with his staff.

Jerry Lumelle after the ISWA Halal Certification Department meeting with Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi said the visit this time was in the context of establishing cooperation. The hope, so that products from Indonesia can get market share abroad, including in the Uncle Sam country. Vice versa, products from the US can be accepted openly in Indonesia.

"Indonesia and America agreed to work together on halal certification. So that products from Indonesia are easily accepted in America, and vice versa, "Jerry said.

Halal certification cooperation, continued Jerry, gave benefits to both parties. No exception for Indonesia. Moreover, in the era of global markets like now, Jerry is optimistic that products from Indonesia have been able to try out foreign markets smoothly.

The Minister of Religion (Menag) Fachrul Razi, as quoted by Republika.com, welcomed the offer of cooperation. However, the Minister of Religion said the cooperation must also involve the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu).

"We will discuss in depth. Because this is the Foreign Ministry's domain too. We can support you. We will do our best for you, "said the Minister of Religion in his statement on Thursday (11/14).

ISWA Halal Certification Department CEO Habib A Ghanim hopes that his visit to Indonesia this time received by Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi, hopefully brings positive things to both countries. So that they can work together in doing halal certification. ISWA Halal hopes that its certification will be recognized by Indonesia.
